St Paul's NEWPIN

NEWPIN offers a safe, loving and stimulating environment, and provides a high quality, well planned, and challenging activities, based on child-initiated play for families and their children from conception to a child starting school. Our Service is open to families with at least one child under 5 years of age. Our Centre provides Drop-in Sessions 4 times per week, we are based right in the heart of Church Street.

Support is available for parental involvement in their child’s learning and development through observation and collaborative discussion about their unique child. We have an environment that supports positive interactions between adults and children where our staff model sensitive and respectful adult interactions which supports children’s individual learning and development. All our Ideas, activities and opportunities can be replicated in the home environment.

Our Staff are skilled in making each Drop-in Family session an inclusive experience for parents, carers and children. It can take time and regular communication to build solid relationships, which are founded on mutual trust and respect.

Still very much an important part of our work is to recognise when a parent or carer may need to have time to reflect, to have his/her own space, to off-load or to gain the support of fellow parents and carers. Because of the parent’s or carer’s need their child may need support which is what we are able to offer at the appropriate time.

Parents come in to play and connect with their children, but they also come in looking for resources, information and maybe they’re struggling with some parenting issues.

Our programmes and regular workshops can give parents a chance to talk about child's behaviour, sleep patterns, play and learning. It is a chance to get to understand how your children learn and notice patterns of behaviour.
