About Organisation

Caxton Youth Organisation is the only specialist youth club of its kind for learning disabled and autistic young people aged 11-25 in Westminster.

Caxton is an inclusive place for young people with learning disabilities in Westminster to have fun, make friends, learn new skills, and build independence. Established in 1948, we have opened our doors to thousands of young people in Westminster, adapting and evolving to meet the needs of our community for 75 years. We specialised our support in the 1980’s and have been providing our unique services to our borough ever since.

Our team delivers youth work shaped by the needs, interests, and aspirations of young people. Youth club sessions take place three nights a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. At these 2.5-hour sessions, young people benefit from a combination of 1:1 support and inclusive group activities. We also run an extensive school holiday provision including daytime activities at Caxton Youth Club, day trips and overnight residential trips.

Our activities are designed to be accessible and inclusive for all young people. We operate with a minimum 1:4 ratio of staff to young people, work in small group sizes, and use visual forms of communication such as Makaton and Widgit symbols to ensure that all young people are able to fully participate in activities. For young people who are not yet able to travel independently, we provide community transport in our wheelchair-accessible minibus to all our activities, and support to navigate public transport.
