FREE SUPPORT FOR THE HAF PROGRAMME
The Change4Life Service aims to ensure that children, young people and families across Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster are supported to be healthy and happy in the communities where they live, learn and play.
We offer a wide range of services to support children, young people and families to eat well and keep active, including clubs and coaching.
The Change4Life Service is offering the following support for families and/or staff delivering any part of the HAF Summer Programme.
FOR FAMILIES
We can offer two workshops, which can be delivered online or in-person at your setting. If you would like to arrange this, please contact us directly to arrange a date and time: Change4LifeWorkshop@healtheducationpartnership.com
1. Healthy Eating Made Simple
This workshop is for parents/carers of school age children, and will help participants understand:
- The importance of achieving a healthy diet
- How the Eatwell Guide can help meet your child’s nutritional needs
- How to implement the recommendations at home
- How to use food labels to make healthier choices
2. Portion Size – Getting it Right
This workshop is for parents/carers of school age children, and will help participants understand:
- The relationship between portion size and weight gain
- The importance of following recommended portion sizes
- How to produce meals at home in line with the Change4Life recommendations
VIDEOS
There are 2 short videos available covering healthy eating and physical activity. Each video is full of useful information and ideas: perfect for sharing with children during sessions.
The Healthier Choice Show
Reading nutrition labels, choosing the right portion size and making super swaps.
Let's Get Active
Ways to be active every day, physical activity guidelines and staying motivated.
FOR STAFF
We have created a short Change4Life quiz for handing out at activity sessions - a perfect rainy-day activity!
Activity leaders may need to help the younger children complete the quiz. The quizzes can also be given to children to take home and complete with their families, perhaps collecting the answer sheet from activity leaders later in the week.
Training
Change4Life workforce training is available to staff working with children, young people and families in Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster. The training aims to support staff to create happy and healthy settings in which children and young people can learn and play.

Nutrition & Physical Activity Advice
The Change4Life Advice Service offers free specialist advice and guidance to staff working with children, young people and families in Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster.
