Join one of our free 6, 11 or 12-week skill courses focusing on catering, hairdressing, content creation and more.

Each course is designed for young people aged 14-19 and gives you the skills, hands-on experience and guidance from industry professionals you need to start your own business or kick-start your professional employment journey.

ALL of our skills courses are FREE and run weekly on either Tuesdays or Wednesdays at The Avenues Youth Project from 6:30 pm-9:30 pm

KICKSTART CAREERS COURSES:

• • Khadys Dream – 11 weeks
    Khadys’ Dream explores positive choices, the consequences of crime, resilience, mentoring, alternative career paths and future planning
    
  • Photography – 6 weeks
    Learn camera settings, composition, lighting, portrait photography, visual storytelling, editing and how to build a portfolio.
    
    
  • Content Creation – 6 weeks poster (25th Nov)
    Learn planning, filming, editing, social media strategy, branding and safe online practices. Everything you need to start your own digital portfolio.
    
  • Hairdressing – 12 weeks
    Back by popular demand - Discover the world of hairdressing in our 12-week hair care and styling course. You’ll learn ponytail construction, Box and Knotless braiding techniques, crochet wig making, clip-in extensions and more.
