About Organisation

The Harrow Club is a West London based youth organisation offering Innovative, accessible and high-quality opportunities, enabling young people often from disadvantaged backgrounds to maximise life chances.

Our objectives are to:

• Deliver high quality youth work

• Encourage and support children and young people to stay in school

• Keep young people and the community safe.

As a long-standing youth organisation, believes passionately in the value and importance of youth work, especially in areas with high levels of deprivation and social issues. For some children their home life is not happy, resourced or supportive. School can be challenging with issues such as bullying and without another safe and supportive space and trusted caring adults, these children are at high risk of being groomed, exploited or ending up never realising their potential. For these children a youth centre is a second home, a place where they feel happier, can make friends and get guidance and support lacking elsewhere.

We run 5 youth clubs in the boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea and Hammersmith & Fulham as well as a range of projects covering sports, arts and performing arts, media, music, digital and specialist work such as our gangs project, motor vehicle workshops and educational programmes aimed at reducing school exclusions.

Our Reach

• 500+ children and young people aged 8-24 worked with each year

• 20+ ongoing projects

• Working with more than 15 local schools

Key developmental streams are our school inclusion work which includes our informal education and inclusion programme, operating 3 afternoons a week for local primary school children on reduced timetables, providing confidence, building, soft skills, team-working and confidence through learning through play, sports, performing arts and group workshops.

The other key stream is our 'Another Way' diversionary and developmental programmes engaging young people who are at high risk of gang related criminality and exploitation. We do detached work, mentoring, late-night safe-spaces and employment support.
